What Is Blood Pressure?

Blood pressure is a pressure, power or force that heart uses to pump blood around body organs. This pressure is very important for human life as without this pressure, oxygen and other useful nutrients can't run in human body to nourish body organs and tissues. Blood pressure also push white blood cells and antibiotics to body organs for immune system, hormones such as insulin.
Blood circulates in body because of a difference in pressure. Normal blood pressure is vital to life. Our blood pressure is highest at the start of its journey from our heart and when it enters the aorta  and it is at  lowest level at the end of its journey along progressively smaller branches of arteries. This  difference in upper and lower pressure  causes blood to circulate in veins. 

How it is measured?

There are two numbers in a blood pressure. The first is the systolic pressure. It measures that  how difficult the blood pushes against the walls of the arteries when the heart is in systole This is when the pressure against the walls of the arteries is highest. The second number is the diastolic blood pressure. It measures how difficult the blood pushes against the  arteries  wall when the heart is in diastole.

High blood pressure is called hypertension. A person has hypertension if their blood pressure is high and stays high over time. Hypertension is very common. About one in every three adults has high blood pressure. Hypertension is called the silent killer because it often causes no symptoms, so many people have high blood pressure without realizing that anything is wrong.However, hypertension can hurt the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of the body. It can lead to serious health problems  heart attack, heart stroke, and kidney failure etc.

Low blood pressure can cause problems like dizziness and fainting. If a person blood pressure is enough  low, they can have seizures, become consciousness and even die.

The ideal blood pressure, we should all have a blood pressure below 120 over 80. This is the ideal blood pressure that show the  one have have good health. At this level, we do not  have the risk   of heart disease or  heart stroke.For children Blood pressure is usually lower  and as getting older it become higher .For healthy adult humans,high blood pressure should be below 120, and the low blood pressure should be below 80. However, blood pressure vary from person to person. Blood pressure also changes naturally during the day time.and gets lower during sleep  It is lower when a person is resting and higher during activity.Many other things  like stress, disease, drugs like alcohol ,cocaine smoking, and what a person eats can change blood pressure.
Risk Factors Of Low And High Blood Pressure
Irregular blood pressure,  either high or low may cause cardiovascular disease, diabetes  heart failure, stroke and kidney diseases etc.

How To Keep Blood Pressure In Control

  • Loose Extra Weight
  • Walk And Exercise Regularly
  • Reduce Stress And Tension
  • Use Fruits And Vegetables In Daily Diet
  • Take At least 8 Hours Sleep Daily
  • Quit Smoking And Alcohol
  • Reduce Quantity Of Salt In Diet
  • Decrease Use Of Caffeine
